Mid Circuit Recap

We had a fantastic time at HITS Ocala with 3 consecutive weeks of showing in February & early March, adding some new team additions and great rounds by all our horse & rider pairs. Thank you to our amazing staff for their hard work and all of our riders on a great middle winter circuit! Some weekly highlights over the past several weeks include:

Colette Arslanian & Diamond B Casanova were Champion both at the HITS Ocala Tournament & Masters weeks in the Younger Amateur Jumper 1.0m Division. Congratulations to this impressive pair!

Grier Van Rooyen & Clair de Lune earned top ribbons in the Low Children’s Hunters during HITS Tournament week including a second in the under saddle & won 3 classes to earn Champion for the Master’s week. At HITS Ocala Winter Finals week, this girl power duo finished with another set of blues to be awarded Reserve Champion for their third show week. Congratulations Grier!

Laura Van Rooyen & Gandalf earned top ribbons both at the Tournament & Masters weeks in the Adult Medal classes including a 3rd in the NHS, 4th in the Ariat and 6th in the 3’ Adult Medal out of a competitive groups. We are so happy to see this pair back in action this show season!

We were happy to host professional Sue Lyman & the adorable Ifwhizkycouldtalk both weeks helping them in the Green and Take 2 Thoroughbred Hunter Divsions, where they earned top ribbons both at the Tournament & Masters weeks including a 4th in the 3’3” Green Incentive & Reserve Champion in the Thoroughbred Hunters during the Masters week.

This past weekend, Java got to have his mom, Maggie Greene, visit for the weekend for some riding in the sunshine. Maggie is currently working in sports public relations for some large reputable brands in NYC so we were excited she was able to get away and visit us in Ocala. Java certainly was too!

We will be rounding out the winter circuit with 2 additional show weeks at HITS before we head to the Florida Horse Park in April, then making our annual trip back to our home base in NJ.

2023 wrap up!

2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ wrap up! What a special year for all our horses & riders. Huge growth, special wins & new challenges were conquered by everyone.✨✨✨ Congratulations to all & thank you to the team that helps make it all happen.
🏆 Rio Javas House earned 3️⃣ Tri colors after showing just 6 times this year.
🏆All Inclusive was in the top 2️⃣0️⃣ in the USEF M&S Pony Medal Finals.
🏆 Uruguay🥇in the Dover Saddlery Adult Medal Finals & currently 2nd in Zone 2 in Adult Eq 36+
🏆 Gandalf currently stands 10th in Zone 2 in the USHJA 2’9”.
🏆 Clair De Lune was Reserve Champion🥈in the HITS Working Hunter 2’9” at M&S Finals.
🏆 Biarritz currently stands 7th in the 3’3” Performance Hunter in Zone 2 & 3️⃣rd and 4️⃣th in the 3’3” A/O Hunters 36+ in the zone and country, respectively.
🏆 Amor De Tortuga was Reserve Champion🥈in the M&S Large Children’s Pony Medal Finals & currently stands 1️⃣st in the country for the Large Children’s Pony Hunter.
🏆 Deva had a fantastic year of growth with Laura Richardson. Congratulations to Laura on officially making this sweet mare part of the family!

We have the most perfect pony available for lease! In three years, he took our rider from the short stirrup ring to tri-colors almost every time out in the children’s ponies. His results are only a small piece of why Amor De Tortuga is the best pony ever and beloved at our barn.

Happy Birthday to Porter

Happy, Happy Birthday to Porter! This kid turns 10 today! Where does the time go?? He is just the best little man who loves life and all of his friends. The Sheriff makes sure all humans and horses stay in line. Love him to pieces. The picture with the party hat is from his first birthday. All of the other pictures are of him today on his 10th birthday. And true to form he always has a Corgi buddy in his life. Happy Birthday Porter

Capital Challenge Horse Show

Looking back on a nice time at the Capital Challenge Horse Show last week.
🎩 Biarritz & Laura van Rooyen~8th in the 3’3” Amateur Owner Hunter Handy Stake class!
🐢 Amor De Tortuga & Grier van Rooyen~6th over fences in the Children’s Hunter Pony’s.
🥈Congratulations also to Laura for finishing second in the year end standings for the WCHR 3’3” A/O Northeast section.
🥉Congratulations to Grier for finishing third in the year end standings for the WCHR Children’s Hunter Northeast section.

Zone II Finals

Congratulations to our riders who qualified for and competed in Zone II Finals this week.
🏆Laura van Rooyen rode her Biarritz to the Reserve Championship title in the Amateur Owner Hunters.
⭐️Grier van Rooyen rode Amor De Tortuga to fantastic ribbons in the Children’s Large Pony Hunter.
⭐️Grier also ride All Inclusive to wonderful ribbons in the Children’s S/M Pony Hunter’s.

the M&S Insurance League Finals

Last week we had the pleasure of showing at the M&S Insurance League Finals in Saugerties, NY. We had a number of horses qualify and they rose to the occasion! Laura van Rooyen rode Uruguay owned by Stefano Baruzzo to the win in the Dover Saddlery Adult Medal Final 🥇Laura was so consistent she rode to a score of 88 in both rounds 🤩 The next day Laura’s daughter Grier van Rooyen rode Amore De Tortuga to the Reserve 🥈title in the M&S Children’s Large Pony Medal Finals 🐢 Grier also rode All Inclusive to a second 🥈place finish over fences out of a very competitive Children’s Hunter Medium Pony group. Clair De Lune and Jenn splashed their way to the Reserve Championship in the HITS Working 2’9” division. Thanks to HITS for putting on a great Finals! And as always thanks to everyone on our team. Middlesex County Horse Show

Grier van Rooyen has been on fire 🔥 at her last few horse shows! And she did not disappoint last weekend at the Middlesex County Horse Show.

🎖️ Grier and Amor de Tortuga were Champion in the Children’s Large Pony Hunters. The pair also won the M&S Children’s Large Pony Medal.

🎖️ Grier and All Inclusive were Reserve Champion in the Children’s Small/Medium Pony Hunters.
