Capital Challenge & Jumping Seat Medal Finals Recap

It’s been an incredible few weeks for our hunter jumper riders as we wrapped up both Capital Challenge and the Jumping Seat Medal Finals in Kentucky. From beautiful rounds to major career milestones, our team represented our New Jersey barn with style, grace, and determination.

Laura Van Rooyen & Evito Sun Z

We kicked things off at Jumping Seat Medal Finals in Kentucky, where this pair placed 9th in the gymnastics phase, 4th in the show jumping, and 6th overall, earning the High Point Rider Award for riders 30+, a testament to Laura’s precision and partnership with Vito.

Next up at Capital Challenge, Laura Van Rooyen and Evito Sun Z had an outstanding performance. This talented adult equitation team earned a Top 12 finish in the Ariat Adult Medal Finals — a huge accomplishment and the culmination of Laura’s goal after returning to the saddle following a 20-year hiatus. Her consistent, polished rounds showcased her dedication and hard work all season.

Laura and Vito also impressed in the hunter ring, finishing 9th in the Advanced Adult Hunters, a great way to close out an incredible week at one of the most prestigious horse shows in the country. We couldn’t be prouder of this duo’s effort, focus, and results!

Grier Van Rooyen & Biarritz

Our Children’s Hunter superstar team, Grier Van Rooyen and Biarritz, had a phenomenal Capital Challenge as well! They started the week with an impressive 3rd place finish in the NAL Children’s Hunter Final, setting the tone for an exciting show.

Then, Grier and Biarritz delivered a stunning round in the WCHR Children’s Hunter Challenge, scoring an impressive 88 by both judges to clinch the championship. This pair continues to shine with their style, poise, and beautiful partnership in the ring. An incredible way to celebrate a successful show season, we couldn’t be more proud! We continue through Fall Finals season over the next several weeks. Congratulations again to all our riders, horses, and our staff, your passion, hard work, and love for the sport continue to make us proud.
