Back in New Jersey

We officially arrived back to our home base in NJ earlier this month with the horses excited to be back in the crisp, Spring air. After a few days rest, we returned back to work preparing for our first month of horse shows. Last week we started our first of three consecutive show weeks at Princeton Show Jumping, kicking off the spring with great success.

Princeton Show Jumping May I

Jenn piloted our youngest hunter, 007 Golden Eye, this week stepping up to the USHJA 2’9″ earning great ribbons. She also warmed up Serendipity for the weekend in the 3’3″ Performance Hunters, with fantastic rounds on this new addition to Team Signature.

The Van Rooyen girls had a fantastic week at Princeton on some of their new and existing partnerships.

Grier Van Rooyen showed in all three rings during her first show back north with great success, She rode Biarritz to top ribbons in the Children’s Hunter Division including a 6th in the Classic out of a competitive group.

In jumper land, she piloted her newest partner, Cheiser B, to top ribbons in the .90m Junior Jumper Division as well as 2nd in the M&S .90m Junior Jumper Classic.

In the Equitation ring, Grier & Utrillo de Soleil rode to Reserve Champion in the 14/u Equitation Division as well as 2nd in the THIS Children’s Medal and a win in the Mini Medal with a score of 86! Congratulations Grier!

Laura Van Rooyen joined the week at Princeton with her two new mounts in both the equitation and hunter rings. She & Serendipity had fantastic rounds in the 3’3″- 3’6″ Amateur Owner Hunter Division including a 3rd in the Classic.

In the Equitation ring, Laura rode Evito Sun Z to top ribbons including 3rd in both the Ariat Adult Medal as well as the USHJA 3’3″ Jumping Seat class. Congratulations Laura on a great week!

We are off to a soggy start back at Princeton this week before we head to HITS Saugerties next week for some fun in the mountains.

Winter Circuit Wrap Up

We just officially wrapped the winter circuit in Ocala and we would like to congratulate all of our riders on a fantastic circuit! Our last three show weeks of the circuit included HITS Ocala Winter Celebration and two weeks at the Florida Horse Park for the Ocala Spring Classic II & III. We were excited to welcome some new partnerships over the last several weeks that already have made a fantastic debut in the show ring.

Ocala Winter Celebration & Circuit End

Grier Van Rooyen debuted at the Ocala Winter Celebration with her mom’s, Biarritz, in the Modified Children’s Hunter were they earned top ribbons like a pair of seconds and a class win to earn Reserve Champion together for their first show together.

In the equitation ring, Grier piloted Utrillo de Soleil also to top ribbons in the 12-14 Equitation to earn Champion of the division. This pair has had a super successful circuit together with top ribbons and trim colors every week! Congrats Grier!

Collette Arslanian & Diamond B Casanova continued their successful circuit with a 3rd in the Amateur Jumper 1.0m class & 5th in the 1.05m Classic this week. They also had a great time dressing up for the Sotheby Gambler’s Choice Class on the St Patrick’s Day weekend in classic “Signature” green tribute attire.

At the completion of the HITS circuit, this pair was awarded Circuit Champion in the Younger Amateur Jumper 1.0m Division. Congratulations Collette!

Ocala Spring Classic II & III

Jenn successfully showed some existing and new additions at the Florida Horse Park including barn favorite, Biarritz, to Champion in the USHJA 3′ Hunters. New addition, 007 Golden Eye debuted in the show ring with Jenn in the Baby Greens, receiving top ribbons. Both Evito Sun Z and Serendipity showed successfully with Jenn in the 3’3″ Performance Hunters including a class win for Vito. Lastly, new jumper, Cheiser B, earned a class win the Training Jumper 1M as a nice warm up for the weekend.

Grier debuted in the jumper ring with her new mount, Cheiser B, in the Jr/AO .85m division to earn top ribbons & Reserve Champion. What a great start to this new partnership!

In the Hunter ring, Grier stepped up to the Children’s Hunter with Biarritz to earn top ribbons for Reserve Champion and a 3rd in the Adult/Children’s Hunter Classic the first week and Reserve Champion again week two, including two class wins.

Both weeks, Grier & Utrillo de Soleil dominated to win classes in the 12-14 Equitation & won the THIS Children’s Medal both week as well. Congratulations Grier on a great circuit!

Laura Van Rooyen has a successful debut with Serendipity in the Amateur Owner 3’3″ Hunters including an under saddle win week two.

In the equitation ring, Laura also debuted Evito Sun Z in the Adult Medal classes, joining her daughter to win the Ariat week two. What a fantastic end to the circuit for this dynamic duo!

We head back to our home base at HITS for a few short weeks of R&R for the horses & team before heading north to our Spring/Summer home base in NJ. We would also like to thank our fabulous staff for their hard work during our time in Ocala, especially for their dedication to having our horses look & perform their best.

Mid Circuit Recap

We had a fantastic time at HITS Ocala with 3 consecutive weeks of showing in February & early March, adding some new team additions and great rounds by all our horse & rider pairs. Thank you to our amazing staff for their hard work and all of our riders on a great middle winter circuit! Some weekly highlights over the past several weeks include:

Colette Arslanian & Diamond B Casanova were Champion both at the HITS Ocala Tournament & Masters weeks in the Younger Amateur Jumper 1.0m Division. Congratulations to this impressive pair!

Grier Van Rooyen & Clair de Lune earned top ribbons in the Low Children’s Hunters during HITS Tournament week including a second in the under saddle & won 3 classes to earn Champion for the Master’s week. At HITS Ocala Winter Finals week, this girl power duo finished with another set of blues to be awarded Reserve Champion for their third show week. Congratulations Grier!

Laura Van Rooyen & Gandalf earned top ribbons both at the Tournament & Masters weeks in the Adult Medal classes including a 3rd in the NHS, 4th in the Ariat and 6th in the 3’ Adult Medal out of a competitive groups. We are so happy to see this pair back in action this show season!

We were happy to host professional Sue Lyman & the adorable Ifwhizkycouldtalk both weeks helping them in the Green and Take 2 Thoroughbred Hunter Divsions, where they earned top ribbons both at the Tournament & Masters weeks including a 4th in the 3’3” Green Incentive & Reserve Champion in the Thoroughbred Hunters during the Masters week.

This past weekend, Java got to have his mom, Maggie Greene, visit for the weekend for some riding in the sunshine. Maggie is currently working in sports public relations for some large reputable brands in NYC so we were excited she was able to get away and visit us in Ocala. Java certainly was too!

We will be rounding out the winter circuit with 2 additional show weeks at HITS before we head to the Florida Horse Park in April, then making our annual trip back to our home base in NJ.

January Recap

We kicked off the new year with three stellar show weeks at both WEC and HITS Ocala. Our two weeks at WEC both gave us some surprisingly chilly Florida weather but we managed to continue December’s great rides and results for all.

WEC Ocala Spectacular II

Laura Van Rooyen piloted her Gandalf to 6th out of a large competitive group in both the THIS and Ariat Adult Medal.

Grier Van Rooyen continued her mom’s beautiful equitation rounds on Utrillo de Soleil earning Champion in the 12-14 Equitation Division and a win in the THIS Children’s Medal.

Over in the hunter ring, Grier also rode Clair de Lune to two class wins & a third in the Low Children’s Hunter Division & 6th in the Non Pro 2’6″ Hunter Derby.

Colette Arslanian & Diamond B Casanova were clear all week in the Amateur Jumpers earning 7th in the .95m section & 2nd in the 1.05m Classic on Sunday.

WEC Ocala Spectacular IV

Grier Van Rooyen earned great ribbons in the 12-14 Equitation & won the THIS Children’s Medal with a score of 86! A personal best for this new pair!

Grier then stepped up to the 3′ Children’s Hunter with Clair de Lune earning great ribbons including a win in the under saddle.

Colette Arslanian & Diamond B Casanova were 6th in the 1.00m Amateur Jumper class this week out of a large competitive group.

Laura Van Rooyen & Gandalf got to show inside earning 5th in the Ariat Adult Medal with a stellar round.

HITS Ocala Premiere

Colette Arslanian made a special trip down to FL to show her Diamond B Casanova this weekend. They were consistent and fast all weekend earning 1st, 3rd, & 2nd respectively on each day and ultimately Champion in the 1.00m Amateur Jumper Division. Congrats Colette!

2025 Kick Off

We arrived back to our winter base at HITS Ocala, FL in December and started the 2025 show year off with a stellar week at the HITS Holiday Classic.

Grier Van Rooyen debuted in the equitation ring with her new horse, Utrillo de Soleil, with great success receiving Reserve Champion in the 12-14 Equitation division and a win in the Pyranha Children’s Medal. We are so excited to watch this pair and welcome Fluffy to the barn!

In the hunter ring, Grier kicked off the new year with great rounds on Clair de Lune in the Low Children’s Hunter division, earning a pair of seconds, both over fences and under saddle. Another great pair to watch this season!

The Van Rooyen ladies continued their winning ways with Laura Van Rooyen winning both the Dover Medal and NHS Medal on long time partner, Gandalf, who we welcomed back to the show ring this season. We are so happy to see this amazing pair back together again at the horse shows!

New Signature Stables addition, Colette Arslanian and her horse Diamond B Casanova, were lighting fast in the jumper ring to receive Champion in the Junior/Amateur Jumper .90 divison. We would like to extend a huge welcome to Colette & Cass to team Signature!

Gearing up for their successful wins, Jenn piloted Luna to earn top ribbons in the 3′ Greens including an under saddle win and Gandalf in the USHJA 3′ Hunters, earning top ribbons out of a large competitive group.

Lastly, we would also like to extend a warm welcome Simone Scotto to the staff at Signature Stables. We are kicking off the 2025 season in full swing this month with 3 continuous weeks of showing, starting this week at WEC Ocala. Good luck to the entire team!
