Winter Circuit Momentum at HITS Ocala

The last few weeks at HITS Ocala have been filled with top ribbons, exciting new partnerships, and strong performances across the hunter, jumper, and equitation divisions. Our riders and horses continue to build momentum on the winter circuit, and we are proud of the consistency and progress shown in every ring.

Last week, Colette and Fontaines Z earned top ribbons in the Jr/Am .80m Jumper Division, including impressive finishes of 2nd and 5th in the Classic. Their rounds reflected careful riding, consistency, and competitive focus throughout the week.

Colette also continued developing her partnership with her new mount, Old Fashioned, in the Jr/Am .90m Jumpers. As they get to know one another, the pair delivered steady, confident rounds and earned consistent ribbons, including a 3rd and 10th in the Classic. Building a new horse-and-rider relationship takes time, and we are excited about the foundation they are creating together.

The previous week brought a standout equitation weekend for Grier, who stepped into the ride on Evito Sun Z, taking over from her mom and rising to the occasion beautifully.

Together, they earned:

  • Champion – 12–14 Equitation
  • Winner – THIS Children’s Medal
  • 2nd – USHJA 3’3” Hunter Seat Medal

In the jumper ring, Grier continued her success with Cheiser B, earning top ribbons in the Jr/Am 1.0m Jumpers and won  the 1.05m Jr/Am Classic.

She also competed with Gandalf in the .80m Jumpers, combining efforts with Jenn’s warm-up rides to secure top ribbons in each class and ultimately earn Reserve Champion in the division. It was an impressive and well-rounded week showcasing versatility across multiple rings.

Our professional horses also delivered strong performances at HITS. With Micheal Andrade in the irons, Serendipity earned top ribbons in the 3’6” Green Hunters, including a 3rd place finish in the Incentive Class. 007 Golden Eye was consistent in the 3’ Green Hunters, bringing home top ribbons and a 2nd place finish in the Incentive as well.
